Hausa Koko is a traditional Ghanaian millet porridge mix blended with spices. It is commonly prepared as a warm breakfast porridge and may be served with milk, sugar, bread, bofrot, koose or other breakfast accompaniments.

Ingredients

Millet, Spices.

Preparation

1. Mix 4–6 tablespoons with cool water to form a smooth paste.
2. Add the paste to boiling water.
3. Stir continuously for approximately 5–10 minutes.
4. Add more water if a thinner consistency is desired.
5. Add milk and sugar to taste before serving.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place.
